Don’t you just love little spaghetti sauce faces? I do.
Spaghetti sauce is just one of those items that we always keep stocked up in the pantry. It isn’t real expensive to buy, but we have really been trying to go homemade on what we can. This summer we decided to make spaghetti sauce for the first time. Some of the tomatoes came from our own garden, but our wonderful neighbors were given a big box of tomatoes, then offered us most of them. We ended up with ten, quart freezer bags of spaghetti sauce that we froze and will be good until February. Usually I can get two meals out of a bag, unless I’m making lasagna then I use the whole bag. Next year we talked about canning the sauce and making more to last through the whole year.
The recipe we used came from the book “Don’t Panic-Dinner’s in the Freezer” by Susie Martinez, Vanda Howell, and Bonnie Garcia. The sauce has been picky toddler approved so you know it has to be good.
And yes, she went right into the bath after supper. It wouldn’t be spaghetti night if she didn’t.
